The Operations Support Coordinator, Development Operations position is instrumental in the support and execution of our philanthropy training programs, which builds and enhances our current donor pipeline. In partnership with subject matter experts, the position will support various philanthropic engagement programs for Michigan Medicine clinical faculty, staff, and leadership and the Development office.  This position is also responsible for the advancement of the office training and cultural environment, which includes the identification and promotion of learning opportunities for both fundraising and non-fundraising staff alike. The Operations Support Coordinator will facilitate and maintain continuity among several working groups focusing on enrichment, wellness, sustainability, professional development, staff recognition, staff advisory, and diversity equity and inclusion. The coordinator is responsible for our development specific standard operating guide, benchmarking surveys (AAMC), and some general office operations (safety liaison/mini safety drills, maintenance of memberships and subscriptions, annual space survey, etc.) and supports our community intranet, DevConnect.
Faculty Engagement Coordinate and provide support for the philanthropic engagement programs for Michigan Medicine clinical faculty, staff, and leadership with the goal of increasing the grateful patient pipeline.  Act as liaison for faculty engagement sessions, including but not limited to all logistical arrangements, contract negotiations, facility arrangements, invitations, rsvp tracking, material production, etc. Create and administer a post-engagement program survey to evaluate effectiveness.  Analyze responses and provide recommendations for program enhancement through SLT representatives.  Gain and maintain a strong awareness of grateful patient fundraising trends and recommend new developments in the faculty engagement program and major gift officer training. Employee Engagement and Resource Management The Operations Support Coordinator will facilitate and maintain continuity among several working groups focusing on enrichment, wellness, sustainability, professional development, staff recognition, staff advisory, and diversity equity and inclusion. Work with various departmental leaders and appropriate committees to ensure office employee training and engagement activities are well coordinated and designed to increase employee knowledge, satisfaction, and improve organizational culture.  Identify and share relevant professional development opportunities at Michigan Medicine, the University of Michigan, the Office of University Development, locally and nationally.  Provide a menu of opportunities for inclusion in the bi-weekly "Other Friday Email" office-wide message as well as through team meetings, all staff forums, etc. Review materials from relevant development organizations such as CASE, AAMC, Advisory Board, Advancement Resources, etc., to keep abreast of industry trends and incorporate them into Michigan Medicine Development best practices. Coordinate in-house logistics for in-house training, webinars, and workshops (register for webinar, schedule conference room, invite the team(s). Track individual and team professional development participation. Analyze and present team participation to SLT representative quarterly, noting trends and providing recommendations. Maintain office standard operating guidelines (SOG) Review and update as needed, at minimum annually. Draft new SOGs as appropriate and route for approvals. Send SOG updates annually to Michigan Medicine Policy Stat through the Sr. Compliance Project Manager (currently C. Joynt). Bachelor's degree Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, with on time delivery. Ability to set and meet deadlines and priorities; ability to work independently and interactively. Demonstrated ability to exercise a high degree of judgment and diplomacy, and an impeccable commitment to confidentiality is required, as well as highest integrity and ethics. Demonstrated competence in computer software applications necessary to deliver high-quality training and presentations (MS Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat).  Comfort with ambiguity and taking initiative in clarifying expectations in assignment or project goals, outcomes, or deliverables.  Demonstrated competence in data collection and reporting techniques in assessing and evaluating learning initiatives. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Comfortable with public speaking or speaking in front of large audiences. Ability to develop positive working relationships and collaborate successfully across the institution and within Michigan Medicine. Demonstrates a strong customer service and donor centric mentality. At least 3 years of project management experience Experience in developing, facilitating, administering, and conducting training and materials. Familiarity with event planning, professional training, or organizational development experience. Reasonable knowledge of university policies and procedures, protocol, and organization of Michigan Medicine. Experience in fundraising organizations. Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
