Responsibilities
• Provide instructions to hourly employees on proper material processes• Monitor employee productivity and quality of work• Ensure employees are following proper work instructions in their assigned areas• Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area• Ensure employees are provided with appropriate tools to complete assignments• Provide effective training to employees in proper material handling and work methods• Counsel and use progressive corrective action processes when disciplining employees• Remain current with part changes and operating procedures within assigned area• Provide clear concise written and verbal communication to all material personnel• Assist in the disposition of obsolete materials• Assist in managing inventory levels to prevent gains and losses• Maintain an effective operation that minimizes cost and ensures optimal space utilization• Plan and schedule all distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, maintenance, administrative activities, and Human Resources• Direct warehouse personnel to achieve prescribed objectives and apply sound communication and motivational techniques• Ensure accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding Warehouse Operations• Monitor company policies to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment, and property• Perform inventory counts to make certain of accurate control and security• Ensure customer orders are picked and shipped in a timely fashion• Communicate with customers in a professional manner and maintain a close relationship to ensure goals are being met• Communicate to employees with respect and professionalism
Requirements
• Associate's degree or equivalent experience• 2 to 5 years' supervisory experience in a picking, packing, shipping in Big Box environment• Good computer, communication, and organizational skills needed• Ability to produce and make decisions in a highly fast pace and volatile environment
