Functions include tracking funding to be awarded as grants, managing competitions for grant programs as needed, selection of recipients and managing the application, award and amendment processes." Serving approximately 3 million students, 4,400 public schools, 28 colleges, 200,000 instructional staff, 46,000 college professors and administrators, and 340,000 full-time staff throughout the state, FDOE enhances programs and services for Florida's students from early learning through college and career development. In addition, FDOE manages programs that assist individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or disabled succeed either in school settings or careers - encouraging independence and self-sufficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Note: The omission of specific job duties does not preclude management from assigning specific duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position.)
Maintain knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, rules, guidelines and circulars necessary in the approval process of grant applications. Provides budget and fiscal technical assistance and consultation to program personnel on the interpretation of federal and state laws and regulations for assuring financial administrative requirements relating to programs and in the preparation of state plans and grant applications. 
Assist in the review, examination and preparation of initial analyses of state and federal plans, policies, manuals, requests for proposals and grant applications, assuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
Review project applications, plans, and budgets from local educational agencies, community colleges, universities and community based organizations for accuracy of fiscal information and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Assist with the preparation and final review of the Project Award Notification document.
Interpret various financial reports, records, and information systems to advise management, central staff, and outside agencies as necessary. This involves analysis, projections, summaries, and schedules developed from all available information sources.
Review expenditure reports and audit budgets and project invoices submitted by agencies for accuracy and compliance with approved budget and reporting requirements.
Provide consultation and assistance to management, program personnel, community colleges, universities, local education agencies and community based organizations concerning fiscal issues and problems.
Monitor and reconcile cash balances of individual performance based projects through the use of computer printouts, reports, schedules, worksheets and accounting records.
Assist and monitor the annual roll process as pertains to assigned Federal programs.
Preparation and completion of management reports, including the review and analysis of source documents.
Provide necessary assistance to the Auditor General and other federal and state auditors in their review of Departmental accounting records.
Employee complies with guidelines of Section 251.422, F.S., as it pertains to the direct responsibilities of this position and Program Support Operations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
