Job Summary The Operations Manager reports directly to the General Manager. This role is responsible for planning and overseeing the organization's daily operations. The position will supervise and manage staff, interdepartmental communication, and allocating resources to ensure efficient and effective operations at The Jones Center. The position requires flexibility and will require evening and weekend work.
Main Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations, overseeing the operations team and department. Ensure organizational and departmental processes comply with legal regulations and standards. Maintain constant communication with managers, staff, and partners to ensure proper operations and inform up and down about shifting priorities and projects of The Jones Center. Identify potential problems and points of friction and find solutions to maximize efficiency. Analyze data to identify process improvement opportunities and cost savings. Collaborate cross-departmentally to align operations with organizational objectives. Enhance customer service quality and satisfaction. Works with department managers to ensure appropriate staffing for planned customer load. In conjunction with the General Manager, develop, implement, and update departmental policies, child safety protocols, complaints processes, strategic goals, and procedures for efficient operations. Interacts with customers, such as greeting or assisting customers to ensure customers receive world-class service. Coordinates with department leaders to avoid conflicts between programming, arts, wellness, and guest services activities. Develop conflict-resolution programs and lead conflict-management practices. Coordinate with the Safety and Security team to uphold health and safety guidelines and enforce compliance. Work with People Services for the proper hiring, onboarding, payroll, training and development, and offboarding process. Determine staffing requirements and enhance workforce productivity and engagement. Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff. Represents the Center and the organization's mission positively, ethically, and inclusively. Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices. Minimum Qualifications Required Skills and Abilities A self-motivated, collaborative style with a desire to continually learn. Excellent management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate. Effective decision-making skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software Education, Training, and Experience A ssociate or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Recreation, Hospitality Management, or related area preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. At least 2 years of supervisory experience. Background in program development related to education and/or recreation helpful. Experience in a recreation facility is strongly preferred, and understanding and love of public sports programs is required. Knowledge of emergency procedures, First Aid, and CPR. Knowledge of the management and operation of recreation facilities and equipment. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a complex and fast-paced environment. Arkansas driver's license and good driving record. Physical Requirements Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions. The position requires a flexible schedule, working during programs and as needed for staff support, including some evenings and weekends.
