Job Description
General Summary
Under limited supervision, is responsible for the operations of designated UM BWMC Ambulatory Centers, to include supervision of staff; broad oversight of daily operations, revenue, and expenses.

Reporting Relationships
Reports to Executive Director, Tate Cancer Center, Vascular Center and Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology with dotted line to the Medical Director of the designated Centers
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Five (5) years health care management experience required with extensive knowledge and exposure to electronic medical record implementations and pay for performance programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Valid Maryland driver's license required.
Working Conditions
Works inside a clinical/office environment. Exposed to frequent interruptions and multiple crisis situations. May be physically and verbally abused by patients. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials, requiring the observance of standard precautions and safe handling practices. This position has been classified as low or no exposure risk and does not require the completion of an annual respirator mask fitting.
Physical Requirements
Requires standing and sitting approximately 50% of the time; requires walking approximately 50% of the time. Frequently requires reaching for, fingering, grasping and handling supplies, charts, and small equipment. Requires near visual acuity to read charts, documents, and computer monitor; talking and hearing to converse with patients, staff and other health care team members. Requires hearing and listening to differentiate sounds.
* Serves as Operations Manager for the Center
* Identifies and achieves operational goals and objectives.
* Prepares reports to reflect the performance of the Center on relevant operational activities, including volume, financial performance, and staff productivity.
* Serves as a liaison between the Center at UM-BWMC and other Centers throughout the University of Maryland Medical System.

* Organizes and oversees ongoing, appropriate clinical and administrative support services within the Center, including the supervision of the clinical, administrative, and support staff who deliver them.
* Manages the development and ongoing operation of administrative functions to ensure appropriate reimbursement for services provided, including the professional reimbursement for physician services.
* Incorporates cost-effective measures to ensure proper use of time, supplies and personnel, and to remain within (or do better than) department budgetary targets.
* Assists with integrating clinical services for patients within the Center and across the health system, including clinical policies, scheduling and patient flow models, and multidisciplinary care programs.
* Collaborates with the Medical Director to develop annual capital and operating budgets; monitors budgets and identifies significant variances; understands, reviews, and analyzes key financial reports.
* Monitors and makes recommendations for the continual improvement of the quality of services provided, including clinical quality and customer satisfaction. Develops and maintains a regular reporting mechanism for quality standards.
* Demonstrates knowledge of current standards of practice and trends/advances, integrates necessary information into programs and services.
* Participates in referral development by serving as a liaison to referring physicians' offices.
* Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with the standards and requirements of The Joint Commission.
