Operation Technician

Job summary
The Operations Technician is responsible for the effective operation, minor repair, and changeovers of production equipment.They work with others to achieve factory business objectives of safety, productivity, customer service, quality, cost, and environmental protection.Shift hours are night shift positions 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities
• Operates, monitors, and performs changeovers and minor maintenance of automated equipment in the manufacturing of Colgate-Palmolive products.• Coordinates with upstream and downstream processes to ensure availability of materials.• Performs quality sampling and statistical process control activities throughout the manufacturing process.• Troubleshoots and performs minor repairs on production equipment.• Prepares and loads finished product for shipping.• Performs housekeeping activities as per established protocol.• Undertakes daily reporting and updates of information systems.• Participates in regular review of team production performance.• Shares knowledge and develops skills of others in the work team.• Utilizes resources to optimize productivity and meet customer needs.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.• 1+ year of manufacturing, military, or relevant production operations experience.• Ability to work nights and weekends.• Ability to adhere to all safety and EOHS standards.• Ability to perform regular housekeeping and maintain general cleanliness.• Ability to move bags of raw materials weighing up to 50 lbs.• Preferred: Vocational or Technical Degree.
Key Skills Needed
• Knowledge of FDA regulated environment and OSHA standards.• Experience in equipment changeovers, quality checks, continuous improvement, and training others.• Ability to prepare reports, apply problem solving tools, collaborate with co-workers, and use SAP and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
