Responsibilities
• Operation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the boilers• Reset chillers, boilers and change heating and cooling temperatures• Implement minor adjustments to energy management systems• Identify and inform supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment• Reduce maintenance and utility costs through improved operational procedures• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area• Maintain a professional attitude towards patients, visitors, and staff• Vary work schedule or shift to meet department staffing needs• Obtain approval for overtime work• Schedule vacation and personal holidays with supervisory approval
Requirements
• High School graduate or equivalent• Trade School helpful• At least 3 years of commercial construction or industrial experience in maintenance and repair• At least 1 year of practical experience in a hospital facilities department• Ability to perform minor electrical, HVAC, and mechanical repairs• Ability to read blueprints• Basic computer skills for work order systems• Good communication skills• General knowledge or willingness to learn hospital equipment• Ability to perform tasks without supervision
