Job summary
Seeking a full-time Physician Scientist in the Division of Genetics and Metabolism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.This position will involve translational research through the Muenzer MPS Center and clinical genetic activities in the Division.The successful candidate must have excellent clinical skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong interest in translational research or longitudinal research projects.

Responsibilities
• Dedicate 80% effort to translational research through the Muenzer MPS Center.• Assist in clinical management and diagnosis/management of patients with genetic disorders.• Conduct clinical research studies in MPS and apply for extramural funding.• Evaluate and manage patients with various genetic disorders in outpatient and inpatient settings.• Take inpatient call with the Pediatric Genetics/Metabolism team.
Requirements
• MD degree, board certified/board eligible in Pediatrics and Clinical Genetics/Biochemical Genetics.• Excellent teaching skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.• Track record with longitudinal research projects and exposure to MPS patients.
