OIG Nurse Surveyor 6-month Contract to Hire Louisville, KY Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience to join our team as an OIG Nurse Surveyor. The ideal candidate will have a background in nursing, preferably with experience in nursing homes, and must be willing to travel extensively within the state. This role involves working as part of a survey team, conducting inspections and evaluations of healthcare facilities, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate as a member of a survey team, traveling to various healthcare facilities across the state.Attend meetings to discuss survey plans, facility details, and team assignments.Conduct comprehensive evaluations of healthcare facilities, including assessing resident care, facility environment, and staff performance.Utilize observational skills to assess all aspects of resident life, including activities, meals, medication administration, and wound care.Interview residents, family members, and staff to gather information and address concerns.Investigate complaints and incidents related to resident care and facility operations.Complete surveys according to federal requirements and within specified timeframes.Collaborate with team members to compile survey findings and prepare reports.Maintain proficiency in survey processes and stay updated on relevant regulations and guidelines.Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.Previous experience working in a nursing home or long-term care setting preferred.Willingness to travel extensively within the state, potentially being away from home for 5-6 days at a time.Strong observational and communication skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.Detail-oriented with the ability to follow strict protocols and guidelines.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours as needed.Additional Information:
This is not a desk job; candidates should be prepared for physically demanding work that involves being on their feet for extended periods.
Mileage and hotel expenses incurred during travel will be reimbursed.
While working on a contract basis, direct bills will be handled by Branch Members, RPM, or Admin Staff.
Candidates may be required to temporarily work from one of our four regional offices and cannot telecommute during this period.
