The Role: Performs duties to support Office Services including mail metering, utilizing mail room inserters and motor messenger duties.
Day to Day: Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots various equipment required for the timely processing and distribution of bills and other mailings such as the inserter, metering machines, guillotine, strapper, folder, and custom envelope printer. Programs inserter bins in appropriate application and submits electronic postage reports to USPS dashboard. Apply rigorous quality control checks. Tracks supplies needed for completing mailings and reorders as needed.  Sorts and delivers mail throughout OPS and vicinity. Maintains accurate mailing lists in SharePoint, MS Publisher and SC Logic. Processes incoming and outgoing USPS First Class, USPS Priority, and expedited mail. Researches and tracks packages upon request. Performs software updates to systems as needed. Prepares personal mailings for employees and advises on postal regulations and cost effective options. Handles/balances petty cash drawer for miscellaneous transactions. Prepares a variety of reports and documents. Ensures accuracy and compliance. Communicates with departments, districts, and service centers to ensure accuracy in mail and continuous flow of mail. Fills supply orders for internal customers.  Must be knowledgeable of company and USPS policies and procedures regarding all aspects of mail and be able to interpret and explain said policies to others. Trains, assists, and provides feedback to less-experienced workers at the direction of supervisor, which may include providing feedback to supervisor on progress of training. Prepares daily driving route to drop off and pick up packages and inter-office mail. Operates Company vehicles in compliance with state/local laws and Company policies and procedures. Acts and communicates in a professional, respectful, and cooperative manner in connection with all activities associated with NW Natural. Follows supervisory instructions and is flexible and adaptable to changing conditions and expectations. Maintains punctual, regular, and reliable attendance. Demonstrates the Company's core values and complies with all Company policies and procedures. Come on your first day with: Basic math and reading skills. Ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment. Knowledge of USPS, FedEx, UPS and company mailing standards preferred. Knowledge of SC Logic Tracking system, Endicia, EMS, FedEx and USPS software preferred. Typing at 35 wpm. Data entry skills of 6,000 kph with 90% accuracy. Valid OR/WA driver's license, any required certifications and/or endorsements, and satisfactory driving record. Ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple deadlines with zero tolerance for not meeting the deadline. Ability to prioritize work load to meet deadlines. Ability to interface with employees and customers to answer questions or resolve issues with tact and diplomacy. Basic ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Ability to deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner. Ability to stand/walk 4-8 hours per day. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. Ability to concentrate on tasks, apply procedures in sequence, make decisions with limited information, and work in a structured team environment. What we offer:
