The Labor Guild is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and an affiliate of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston (RCAB) with roots deeply imbedded in social and economic justice. The Guild works closely with our students, labor unions, employers, working practitioners and community organizations in the Greater Boston area and throughout New England. Our mission is to foster a healthy labor management climate. To that end, we serve our labor-management community by providing educational and communication programs, significant networking and leadership opportunities, as well as recognizing and honoring remarkable practitioners from our community's various constituencies. POSITION SUMMARY The Office Manager is responsible for providing office and administrative support to ensure efficient operations in support of the Labor Guild. We are looking for an individual who is efficient and comfortable being part of a team. The ability to multi-task, while maintaining complex schedules and managing administrative support is essential in this position. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a good problem solver and organized. Assuring a steady completion of workload in a timely manner is key to success in this position.



ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to the Labor Guild's Executive Director. RESPONSIBILITIES Schedules organizational meetings and book appointments for Executive Director. Secures meeting logistics such as location, food, transportation, childcare and interpretation as needed. Provides services and support to the Labor Guild's membership. Works in collaboration with the Labor Guild staff, Board and Boyle Fellows. Communicates in writing, computer, telephone and through personal contact with individuals and groups. Organizes own workload and established priorities. Coordinates and schedules Guild School activities with the Executive Director, Registrar and the Chair of the Education Committee. Coordinates and implements financial and accounting activities with the Executive Director and the Chair of the Finance Committee. Coordinates, updates and supervises Guild data systems, including the website, with the Executive Director and Chair of the Technology Committee. Coordinates and schedules activities with the Cushing Gavin Awards (CGA) Dinner with the Executive Director and the Chair of the CGA Committee Coordinates and schedules with the Executive Director and the Chair of the Fundraising Committee the soliciting, formulating, and implementing of grant proposals and other fundraising efforts. Assists Executive Director in publishing, editing, and distributing all Guild publications, announcements, marketing as well as the Guild website (Laborguild.com) and other social media platforms. Responsible for answering phone, checking voicemail and email messages, responding to questions and making appropriate referrals. Key operator in the proper use and maintenance of all office equipment. Addresses maintenance needs with the Labor Guild's Executive Director in a timely manner. Performs other duties and functions as required by the Labor Guild's Executive Director and Board. QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Additional computer proficiency desired (ie Adobe Acrobat DC, QuickBooks). Working knowledge of online meeting platforms (such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams) desired. Working knowledge of social media and marketing platforms (such as Facebook. LinkedIn, Mailchimp) desired. Superior organization skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to work under definite timelines and deadlines. Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency. Commitment to social justice and the Labor Guild's organizational mission and goals. Proven ability to work well with diverse groups and populations. Previous experience in membership organization – particularly labor desirable. Previous experience in major event planning and operations. Proven ability to work independently and stay self-motivated. Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment and work flexible hours. Able to travel, on occasion as work duties require. OTHER Annual evaluation by the Executive Director. This position is in a bargaining unit represented by the Massachusetts Nurses Association. Full time (40 hours). Hours on daily basis defined in collaboration with the Executive Director taking into consideration various meetings scheduled at irregular hours. Salary and benefits in accordance with Guild/RCAB policies and the collective bargaining agreement. HOW TO APPLY:
