Occupational Therapist

Job summary
The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for an assigned group of patients and overall management of occupational therapy services in the home setting.Provides direct patient care and supervision of COTAs, ensuring patient needs are addressed.Coordinates care with the multi-disciplinary team and acts as the patient's liaison with other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for assigned patient caseload and ensures timely care and documentation.• Evaluates patient's functional ability and develops a plan of care.• Designs and fits patient with orthotic devices and adaptive equipment when necessary.• Observes and reports any changes in patient's condition.• Maintains communication with multidisciplinary team and updates physician with changes in plan of care.• Incorporates short and long-term goals into therapy.• Delegates elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers.• Acts as a case manager and provides supervision of home health aides.• Provides timely feedback to physician oversight and branch supervision.• Maintains current state driver's license and auto insurance.
Requirements
• 1-year experience as a licensed OT in a clinical care setting or home health preferred.• Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.• Licensed by the Examining Committee to practice Occupational Therapy in the state.• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required.
Key Skills Needed
