TECH IIJOB SUMMARY: Supports the Tech I Lead and management as a Crew Chief to coordinate activities for technicians in all assigned venues and maintains venue technical show quality by performing the following duties. Assist with the operation and execution of entertainment show, leads crew, and applies advance level knowledge and understanding of hazards associated with high risk pyrotechnic and special effects equipment or systems. Communicates with leadership and immediately stops any unsafe activity. Ensures the proper completion and enforcement of all UO, NFPA and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) policies, procedures, regulations, and documentation.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESActs as the Pyrotechnic Crew Chief at an Entertainment Venue, responsible for overseeing the safe operation of all pyrotechnic and special effect equipment and devices in compliance with policies and procedures set forth by the Entertainment Department. This includes adhering to guidelines established by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), and local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). Additionally, functions as the Pyrotechnic specific Crew Chief for a designated area/venue, overseeing tasks such as loading, sorting, storage, strike, and maintenance of pyrotechnics and equipment, including the handling of explosive materials. During performances, assumes the role of the pyrotechnic system operator within the assigned venue and promptly reports any technical problems or concerns to the Lead or management.Assists in assigning work tasks to qualified technicians. Supports the startup and shutdown of work activities. Facilitates communication and coordination with the Tech I lead and management as necessary. Conveys resource requirements and work plans to the Tech I Lead. Maintains effective two-way communication between technicians, Tech I Leads, and other management personnel when needed. Monitors employee productivity and adherence to Technical Entertainment standards. Encourages compliance with safety protocols, wardrobe/grooming guidelines, driving regulations, radio usage policies, and other UO policies. Reports any instances of non-compliance to the relevant venue and/or technical leadership.Assists in technical training and implementation of all training materials. Maintains and shares job knowledge and assists in developing employeesAssist with inventory of tools, equipment, material, and other UO property, ensuring proper care, maintenance, and storage is upheld. Ensures a safe working environment and assists with regular inspections. Notify management of any material needs or safety concerns.Troubleshoot and identify technical issues and when to escalate to the responsible maintenance team and managementComplete required documentation to maintain accountability of the locations for pyrotechnic devices, keeping incompliance within internal and governmental regulation. Ensures proper completion of all technical documentation; to include daily checklists, SOPs, daily FYI, inventory, and other such documentation. Complete required training documentation including assessments and check off listsAccountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION:High school degree or GED: is required.Technical school: is preferred.Associate degree (AA): is preferred.Bachelor's degree:is preferred.EXPERIENCE:3-5 years' experience using advanced control systems, likely within the theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Proven ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Prior experience in the use of pyrotechnic systems and/or other flame effectsAdvance knowledge in technical disciplines needed to operate assigned venue.Basic computer skills with basic experience in Microsoft Office suiteOr equivalent combination of education and experience.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Valid FL Driver's License requiredTECH IIIJOB SUMMARY: Provides the discipline specific technical skills needed to support the daily operation of the assigned entertainment venue and/or event, including the handling and operation of high-risk pyro and pyrotechnic systems. Ensures technical show quality and a positive guest experience by applying intermediate level knowledge of pyro elements. Ensure proper completion of tasks and all UO and NFPA policies, procedures and regulations are followed.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for the daily operation of the pyrotechnic elements within the assigned entertainment venue and/or event. This includes the handling of explosive material and acting as a fire watch.Responsible for the careful loading of pyrotechnics to preserve show quality. Maintaining the proper load layout as directed by venue training and show direction.Responsible for completing pyro load and post-show cleanup, resets. Ensure that all pyro waste is disposed of properly and document any issues with pyro product.Assist with the appropriate maintenance and inventory of venue equipment/supplies as assigned for proper operation, organization, and cleanliness.
