Night (Rd) Shift Quality Assurance Lead Person

Summary Provides sample tracking, preparation and cataloging of samples as well as performing quantitative and qualitative microbiological tests.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Performs required tests on birds and rinses sent in from the plants. Requires use of techniques such as Enzyme-linked Immounosorbent Assay (ELISA) and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).Peforms daily Total Plate Counts (TPC) accurately processing daily samples brought to the lab for bacterial testing; accurately logs and reports results.Prepares cultures for testing demonstrating accuracy in measurement and autoclaving procedures. Requires knowledge of handling various chemicals and reagents, some of which require protective gear and safety handling techniques.Performs general lab upkeep and sanitation; keeps work area free of safety hazards.
Minimum Education Associates degree in related field.
Experience Requirements 2 - 4 years experience. Good communication, computer and math skills.
Experience Preferred Bachelors degree.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements 1. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. 2. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. 4. May be exposed to dust, ammonia and noise from farms and in the garage areas.
