Position: Network Engineer
Location: Hanover, NH
Mode: Full-Time
Job Description:
• 10+ years of network services and team management experience
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Cisco routing and switch (LAN/WAN) technologies with tier 3 troubleshooting skills
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Cisco WLAN controllers and APs, with tier 3 troubleshooting skills
• Good communication skills needed to manage customer stakeholders and handle high priority troubleshooting & project related calls.
• Adjust Equipment and Network configuration as required for installation and ongoing support. Perform network administration add/changes, including router access control list (ACL) definitions, quality of service definitions, virtual LAN definitions, firewall rules.
• Troubleshoot network problems to determine if problem is with the Network hardware or software and take necessary actions for resolution.
• Update or coordinate the update of all appropriate databases/documentation (Service Tickets, change management documentation/reports).
• Plan and schedule Network Systems Software changes and upgrades in accordance with System Change Management Procedures.
• Site-to-Site VPN configuration/Implementation, Between On-premises and AWS cloud
• Wireless Management and Support
• Monitor, control and manage recovery from any Network failure or breach.
• Routing & Switching including configuration of routing protocols
• Conduct performance and functional testing on Network, as when required.
• Proactive Monitoring with the help of customer provided tool, Incident Recording, Ticket generation and Assignment
• Ticketing monitoring and update
• Escalate to OEM/break-fix/ ISP partner in case device is unreachable or some component has gone faulty. Repair & Replacement follow-up with vendors/OEM.
• Manage Internal/External notification and escalation as per defined policies.
• Coordinating with onsite engineer or site contact for Incident Resolution
• Identifying Root Cause and giving permanent solution.
• Updating the solution and creating SOP if required.
• Coordinating with OEM/break fix partner in case of hardware or IOS bug related problem.
• Equipment Configuration changes
• Minor patch / software version upgrade
• Update network document, SOPs and run book
• Schedule Supported activity and the applicable Service Recipient in accordance with the Change Management Procedures.
