We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado to ensure satellite safety during firing of military lasers. You can make a difference with this exciting and 'game-changing' new technology. Your technical expertise and collaborative skills will assist the U.S. Space Command in this critical mission.
This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain your Secret clearance and obtain a Top Secret clearance with SCI access.
Serco supports U.S. Space Command as a sub for their Wing Information and Communications Support contract providing in-depth technical assistance. Our team conducts studies, analyses, and assessments. Our team is also responsible for equipment installation and transitioning for the legacy Space Defense Integrated Network.
The experienced Network Engineer will oversee the planning, solutioning, and implementing the Space Command Digital Information Network (SDIN) technical refresh, if accomplished during the period of performance of this contract. The Lead Network Engineer will evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, perform problem isolation and resolution, monitor, tune, and sets standards. You will be part of a small team of highly specialized technical experts that works closely with the customer. The team has been recognized by U.S Space Command and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the community.
In this role, you will:
Provide network Operation and Maintenance (O&M) for Air Force Space Command's Space Digital Integrated Network (SDIN) Responsible to design and engineer networks and perform long-term planning Provide engineering studies, recommendations, and other reports as needed Oversee device configuration design, testing, implementation and ongoing updates Oversee circuit changes, route alterations, and other critical network functions Train new staff and support staff development Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Red SDIN, Black SDIN, and SONET networks Provide troubleshooting assistance of T1's through OC-12c's on the CISCO SONET Network using CISCO Transport Controller and CISCO Transport Manager Seek out opportunities to implement automation and other technologies to improve outcomes Interact with customers for troubleshooting, and communicate progress to staff Support other contract functional areas and perform other duties as required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
An active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance An active DoD IAT Level II compliant certification (E.g., COMPTIA Security+) immediately upon government mandate Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field High School Diploma/GED Equivalent and 4 years of additional related experience will be considered 4 years of related experience Occasional travel as required (up to 25%)
Additional desired experience and skills:
Cisco/Juniper knowledge/experience, JNCIS-SP or JNCIS-ENT certification strongly preferred Transport network experience strongly preferred Serial Data Communications and Optical Transport Network experience preferred SolarWinds Orion, CISCO Prime Optical, and Juniper CTP View experience a plus Experience with scalable network device management and automation technologies preferred

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $83,365.11 to $138,941.85; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
