Summary
The Network Engineering team is responsible for building and maintaining highly reliable and secure infrastructure using a combination of enterprise data centers and public cloud services. The team is primarily accountable for technologies including but not limited to Routing, Firewalling, Switching, Load Balancing, SD-WAN, VPN (Virtual Private Network), Wireless, NAC (Network Access Control), AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) and Monitoring, 
The Network Engineer III is responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support. The engineer works closely with other Infrastructure team members, application teams, and management to ensure project and operational objectives are met. The Network Engineer III must demonstrate the company's core service excellence pillars of ownership, engagement, empathy, and empowerment.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, test, and maintain infrastructure components in accordance with security standards and project/operational requirements, using scripting and other forms of automation where possible.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues generated through support tickets, system monitoring alerts, vulnerability management, incident response, self-diagnosis, and other means.
Install, configure, and maintain infrastructure software (operating systems, applications, firmware) per project or operational needs.
Coordinate and participate in support and after-hours maintenance windows to implement, maintain, or recover various systems; participate in on-call rotation. Communicate with other departments on schedule and impact.
Collaborate with architecture, development, security, and other teams on existing infrastructure and new projects. Provide technical assistance and support throughout the lifecycle.
Contribute to and maintain system documentation, scripts, procedures, and standards.
Identify opportunities to advance operational processes, standards, and service offerings, improve SLAs, and reduce service delivery costs. Share recommendations with team members and management.
Maintain monitoring systems and assist in periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
Acts as liaison with manufacturers and vendors of infrastructure products.
Cross train team members to assure proficiency and adequate functional backup.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs
Respond, react & communicate as per the ITSM incident management process. This process involves detection of the incident, timely communication to leadership during the life of the incident, service restoration, followed by root cause analysis to prevent the incident from occurring in the future.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university in IS Network field or comparable work experience or a combination of education and experience.  
Comparable work experience as follows:
•    Six or more years of engineering experience with the specific technical disciplines listed
•    Four or more years of experience supporting an enterprise user base
•    Two or more years working in an agile/scrum environment
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have and continually develop detailed technical knowledge of GUI and CLI for Palo Alto PAN-OS, Arista EOS, F5 BigIP, Aruba EdgeConnect (aka SilverPeak), Extreme WiNG7, Aruba AOS, Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), monitoring, and Standard Microsoft Office Applications (Word) word processing software; Standard Microsoft Office Applications (Excel) spreadsheet software; Standard Microsoft Office Applications (Visio) design software.
Certificates and Licenses
Certifications for Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent is preferred.

Remote work and office environment with standard work schedule of 40 hours weekly and overtime as required.
