Our Las Vegas headquarters is home to our national customer service, accounting, and technology teams, along with our Network Operations Center (NOC), which provides Internet security services and remote 24/7 monitoring for all of our networks.
The Network Administrator contributes to the overall success of the company by being responsible for installing, modifying, and supporting provider networks at national events venues from the Las Vegas corporate office. They Install and configure core networking to provide compartmentalized networks and services for customers. Additionally, they work with onsite staff to troubleshoot reported issues to resolution and support the local enterprise network to ensure that centralized server systems maintain uptime.
Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Acts as a Tier 2 technical point of escalation for field operations staff. Takes ownership of support tickets, asks pertinent questions, explores evidence, performs research, and implements solutions. Coordinates with Tier 1 staff that escalate issues and consults Tier 3 staff to provide standardized solutions with minimal supervision. Responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and monitoring networks to support client connectivity. Provides Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity via routers and switches to meet client requirements while maintaining company standards. Must be familiar with configuring Layer 2 networks, creating Layer 3 interfaces, and using Layer 1-3 show commands to map out a network topology and trace the path of connectivity (CDP/LLDP, MAC address table, ARP table, Spanning Tree). Proactively monitors networks for potential issues, opens tickets for investigation, researches best practices to confirm solution viability, and documents changes and reasoning. Works with upstream providers to provision Internet circuits for redundant BGP routing. Utilizes various methods to filter routes and perform traffic engineering. Opens tickets for circuit outages/upstream routing issues and follows tickets to resolution. Configures and troubleshoots specialty hotspot gateways for high-density wireless networks supporting thousands of users. Must have familiarity with the purposes and functions of basic network services that support Internet access to clients (DHCP, DNS, NAT). Maintains networks and infrastructure during outage windows to prevent downtime for essential services. The understanding of which alterations will cause connectivity changes and the ability to schedule maintenance windows with relevant stakeholders are essential to success. Occasionally travels onsite for advanced technical support of client events. Provides diagnostics, rapid troubleshooting, and daily monitoring reports while under pressure. Qualifications Scripting, programming, and an interest in automating networks are a plus. Experience with VOIP systems (Asterisk based PBXes, Polycom phones) is a plus. Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: 2 – 3 years as Network Administrator with LAN/WAN focus or equivalent experience. Specialized Knowledge, Certifications: Cisco, Microsoft, and other industry specific certifications (e.g. CCNA, CWNA, MTA, MCSA, etc.) Working Conditions: Corporate office environment with limited travel to company sites. Available 24/7 by cell phone. Weekly on-call rotation.
