Specifically, we are looking for an applicant with at least two years certification or a two year technical or math degree or equivalent experience who also has a strong aptitude and work ethic for development, in support of manufacturing businesses with SQL server database. Experience with programming in a similar language or prior technical training or college course work may be acceptable. Exposure working on a manufacturing shop floor would be a significant plus. multi-lingual skills in English & Spanish would be an advantage.
Job responsibilities will include providing direct end-user support. The ideal candidate will work as a member of a team of experienced developers, supporting our state of the art manufacturing floor applications as well as working on new projects based on customer requirements.
This position will be responsible for development of user facing applications, shop floor device interfaces and back-end processing programs. We interface to open protocol tools such as torque controllers/nut runners, radio frequency data collection devices, programmable logic controllers such as Keyence, Allen-Bradley, and Siemens, conveyor systems, pick to light systems, RFID devices, proximity sensors, rail guided carts, and worker safety related equipment on the shop floor.
Good communication skills will be needed in order to work directly with our customer base. This job is hands-on and will enable the right person to significantly broaden their technical and programming skills. This position will provide a challenging opportunity working with a Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing environment to exercise your problem solving skills.
This is an in-person in-office position in Farmington Hills, Michigan. A well suited candidate must have the ability to travel and be willing to provide after-hours remote on-call support on a scheduled basis. Significant opportunities exist to learn new technologies as they are leveraged to current applications. You will provide application development and support for our clients' applications and custom programs as an employee of Datanational Corporation. You may provide live-site support of the add-on applications you have been a part developing. You may provide Help-desk support to answer application questions from end-users. After some period of time, you will be a part of our after-hours on-call support team at a maximum of two weeks per month. We have published specific standards for designing, programming, testing and documentation of our systems. You must have good oral and written communication skills and be willing to take and aptitude test in addition to passing a full background check.
