Salary range: $90000.00 to $130000.00 DOE
SUMMARY The Registered Nurse (RN) 2 is responsible for assessing planning implementing and evaluating nursing care for a group of populationspecific patients for the department /unit from simple to complex with multisystem issues in a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN uses knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span assesses data reflective of the patients status and interprets information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his/her agespecific needs. The RN engages in caring relationships with patients families and significant others works collaboratively with other healthcare workers and uses sound judgments while performing nursing and medical interventions. The RN adheres to specialty standards and organizational standards policies procedures guidelines and protocols. Reports to the Director and Nurse Manager. May participate in the supervision of Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients using interviews health history physical examination and diagnostic studies. Write prescriptions for medication and blood products based upon laboratory results routine diagnostic and followup studies therapeutic measures and care postdischarge following written practice protocols. Based on findings determine eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials. Interpret and evaluate findings of studies/tests. Relay appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician. Administer therapeutic measures / obtain specimens as prescribed. Dictate followup letters to referring physicians with summaries of treatment response and plan. Dictate or write patient history admissions progress notes and discharge notes promptly. Assist in the management of family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic phases of patients care. Conduct or participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds for assigned patients to ensure patients are receiving appropriate and quality care. Provide oncall coverage and perform hospital rounds as needed. Triage patients to determine the urgency of physician evaluation. Document and report care in an accurate timely manner using appropriate forms and records. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and to remain flexible in the changing healthcare environment. Assist staff in times of crisis or emergency. Meet with the public outside the institution and efficiently market and promote cancer treatment. Determine work priorities assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments. Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations about patient privacy patient rights personnel law safety labor and employment law. Adheres to Company and departmental policies and procedures including IT policies and procedures and Disaster Recovery Plan. Other duties as requested. Keep work area and records in a neat and orderly manner. Maintain all company equipment in a safe and working manner. Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times as required by the HIPAA regulations. Assist in training new employees to related job duties. Will be expected to work at any Company location to help meet the Companys business needs as directed by the collaborating physician. Will be expected to work overtime when given sufficient notice of required overtime. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION Experience: Minimum 5 years experience as APRN or PA specifically in Oncology is required Education: Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant program Masters degree required Licenses Certifications and/or Registration: An APRN or PA license in the appropriate state is required Prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply is required Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCNP) is required Current BLS is required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Analysis & Critical Thinking: Critical thinking skills include solid problemsolving analysis decisionmaking planning time management and organizational skills. Must be detailoriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment. Interpersonal Effectiveness: Developed interpersonal skills emotional intelligence diplomacy tact conflict management delegation skills and diversity awareness. Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters. Communication Skills: Good command of the English language. The second language is an asset but not required. Effective communication skills (oral written presentation) is an active listener and effectively provides balanced feedback. Customer Service & Organizational Awareness: Strong customer focus. Ability to build an engaging culture of quality performance effectiveness and operational excellence through best practices strong business and political acumen collaboration and partnerships as well as positive employee physician and community relations. SelfManagement: Effectively manages own time conflicting priorities self stress and professional development. Selfmotivated and selfstarter with the ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to work remotely effectively as required. Must be able to work effectively in a fastpaced multisite environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites. Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook required.
