As a Modeling and Simulation Engineer for BlueHalo, you will work with a team of analysts, modelers, software developers, and subject matter experts (SMEs), to develop models and simulations to support mission level modeling with primary focus on Directed Energy systems. You will participate in different levels of modeling, simulation and analysis tasks to support military utility assessments, studies, and wargames.
You have a knack for analysis, simulation, script writing and communication. You bring strong technical experience with any of the following: Python, Matlab, or other modern scripting languages. You can learn software tools quickly and work in a team environment develop modeling and simulation solutions as well as providing requirements and guidance for support tool improvements/needs.
Regularly coordinate with BlueHalo personnel and government partners to enhance our cross-domain modeling expertise in multi-domain modeling, analysis, studies and wargames. Perform modeling and simulation software development tasks with Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) M&S software tools, like the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM). Develop Modeling and Simulation (M&S) expertise across a wide range of disciplines related to DoD systems with a focus on Directed Energy systems. Learn DoD Space systems requirements, align development and analysis to meet those requirements, and communicate results to stakeholders. Design and perform analysis to verify and validate (V&V) models and framework Required: Candidate must be able to work as a Modeling and Simulation Engineer in a team environment performing programming and analytical tasks. Demonstrated ability to use and uphold established modeling and simulation development processes including requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, design, testing, and peer review is essential. Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages is required: Python, R, Matlab, JMP or AFSIM Scripting Language. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, physics, computer science or other related field and 4+ years of experience in related field. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and have ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Clearance. Desired: Desire a current US Secret or higher security clearance. Highly desire experience with the AFSIM simulation architecture and its scripting language. Desire familiarity with DoD systems and specifically Directed Energy domain. Desire familiarity with Agile principles and processes.
