Salary Range ($73,200-$97,600)- Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills, and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP's short–term incentive plan.
The Job You Will Perform: Background: The Valliant Mill is a 5,000+ ton per day containerboard mill with 3 paper machines, 3 continuous digesters, 3 secondary Fiber plants, and an Energy/Chemical Recovery complex composed of three primary boilers for steam generation (Recovery, Power, Bark), Turbine Generator, Evaporators, Recaust Plant, and wastewater treatment system. It currently operates with 400+ mill employees, 150 contract maintenance employees, and 150 other contractors in a results-oriented environment.
The Maintenance Coordinator is a salaried exempt role that will directly manage contractors and their activities while in the Valliant Mill. The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the contractor's safety, quality, schedule and all other established results criteria. The Maintenance Coordinator is also responsible for facilitating, enabling, and ensuring that contractors have the ability to safely achieve their goals. The Maintenance Coordinator will have the additional responsibility of directly managing portions of the Valliant mill's general facility preservation.
The Maintenance Coordinator reports to the Mill Planning Manager and works with each area's Reliability Engineers and maintenance/operations teams. The Coordinator receives direction from the Mechanical Compliance Manager for Facility Preservation responsibilities.
Key Functions ( include but not limited to) : Safety: Plans and oversees safe work including permitting, safe work plans, contractor pre- qualifications, contractor training requirements, and mill entrance requirements. Schedules: Coordinates contractor schedules with operations, maintenance, other contractors and Reliability Engineers. Tracks work schedules and pushes to meet milestones. Environmental: Communicates environmental expectations and inspects to ensure contractor is in compliance. Financial: Manages contractor performance to ensure IP receives appropriate value for the expenditure. Tracks accruals and manages all field change orders. Quality/Performance: Physically inspects and evaluates work against established scope and standards and ensures all work provided by the contractor meets the requirements. Addresses quality or performance issues with the contractor to a resolution. Housekeeping: Ensures contractor maintains high housekeeping standards so work area remains clean and organized.  Quality/Performance: Physically inspects and evaluates work against established scope and standards and ensures all work provided by the contractor meets the requirements. Planning and Managing: Develops maintenance strategies for select facility preservation elements and then builds and executes plans to support these strategies. The Skills You Will Bring: College degree in a related field (Construction/Safety Management, Engineering, Technical) OR ten (10) years relevant management or planning experience in a heavy industrial environment. Computer Skills-spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail, MS Schedule. Must be able to learn and work on SAP enterprise management software.
