Reports to the General Manager. Provide all levels of field management with the services and technical advice needed for proper safety program administration. Assists in adapting and implementing policies and procedures to meet company objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of Worker's Compensation and Injury Management
2. Advise all levels of management on matters about safety within the organization, including but not limited to:
· Preparing and distributing regular reports on the safety status of the company.
· Assisting management in setting company goals and policies.
· Providing occupational guidance to facilitate and promote the health and safety of all employees.
· Coordinating and implementing the company's wellness initiatives.
· Developing and updating standard safe operating procedures.
· Maintaining and managing the company's substance abuse program.
· Recommending disciplinary procedures for violations of safety rules and procedures.

3. Incorporate safety and environmental responsibility into daily action.
4. Manage staffing requirements for all office and/or field activities.
5. Ensure full compliance with federal, state, local, Nooter, and customer regulations.
6. Represent management and interface with customer's safety department activities regarding safety, health, and risk issues.
7. Manage the litigation for the CA Regional Office.
8. Approve specific contract obligations with the estimating group to ensure full compliance with the scope of work.
9. Conduct audits to observe jobsite conditions or work practices at jobsites, in the office, and in the shop areas.
10. Utilize and improve the Nooter Management System (NMS) for effective and efficient fulfillment of requirements from customers, regulators and NCC values, policies, objectives and targets.
11. Assess, coordinate, and develop a standardized curriculum for NCC employee training and new-hire orientation.
12. Maintain and manage the incident investigation program.
13. Consult with Purchasing and advise on safety equipment adequacy and suitability.
14. Direct as a key regional office safety Alliance Team member.
15. Maintain external professional contacts and resources by representing the organization at various professional organization meetings and committees.
16. Facilitate strategies and plans for training requirements dictated by succession planning.
17. Advise management regarding regulatory visits, complaints, or inspections.

Required knowledge
Working knowledge of oil, gas, power industry, and worker compensation laws. Knowledge of Federal OSHA 1910 and 1926 Standards and Worker's Compensation benefits.
Required skills or abilities
Ability to work professionally with other NCC departments, customers, subs, and employees. Good communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces. Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and computer literacy skills.
Formal education
A bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or an Associate Science degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience is required.
Experience
5 to 10 years of industrial/construction safety background, including supervisory experience and responsibility for the safety performance of other safety professionals.

Unusual Working Conditions, if any Travel between the Midwest Industrial job sites by air and car when necessary to maintain the position's essential functions.
