Microsoft Project Server Functional AdministratorID:NPSHPTC-004-001Location:FrederickProgram:NPSWage/Hr:$60.00Hours/Week:10Minimum Age:55?This position supports the Historic Preservation Training Center of the National Park Service and may be performed remotely. ?The NPS Experienced Services Program is a unique partnership created to help solve the workforce issues facing government agencies. The program connects experienced workers (age 55+) to the NPS to provide scientific, technical, and administrative support. ?NPS ESP positions are meant to provide temporary, project-based support. This position is currently funded for an estimate of 52 weeks. ?A background security investigation may be required prior to the start date. Only those positions with 30+ hours per week are eligible for health insurance benefits; all positions will accrue sick leave. ?The experienced workers participating in the Program are referred to as ?Enrollees? and are not employees of the NPS or NEW Solutions. NEW Solutions is the ESP non-governmental organization responsible for administrative aspects of the program, and the Enrollees work under NPS direction to assist the Agency staff in carrying out their mission. NPS ESP Enrollees benefit from the opportunity to keep technical skills current; to access new training opportunities; to engage in gainful project-based positions; and to undertake meaningful tasks using their experience and talent to contribute to the environment, the national economy, and their own financial security. Qualifications:Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in architecting, developing and/or managing Business Intelligence solutions. OR BA/BS Degree?2+ years experience with Project Online application administration including project templates, customer development, projects detail pages, projects team-sites, work flows and Project Online web parts.?2+ years experience with project scheduling including creating, managing, and maintaining project schedules and resources using Project Online.?Demonstrated experience in creating custom solutions and performing configuration adjustments in Microsoft Project Online?2 years of experience architecting, developing and/or managing the implementation of Business Intelligence solutions using Power BI and Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS / SSAS/ SSRS, ?2 years of experience identifying, analyzing and translating business requirements and rules into intuitive analytical solutions, business scorecards and management dashboards?Excellent written and spoken communications skills, Project Online and Power BI end-user training experience, and demonstrated experience presenting complex technical topics to general business audiencesExperience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, Power PointPower BI and Microsoft Project OnlineDuties:The Project Online Functional Administrator is a customer facing role that guides and assists project managers in the best use of Project Online. Typical activities include end user training, project template creation, project scheduling, system configuration and reporting. The functional administrator is responsible for ensuring that the data within Project Online is accurate and up to date by training Project Managers. The functional administrator also serves a Project Online SME while serving on project teams that are tasked with integration data with Project Online. The functional administrator creates, generates, and distributes reports using Power BI Premium as defined by customers. The functional administrator serves as the Power BI SME regarding all data generated and used by Project Online.Managing and enhancing the Project Online security model, adding users and configuring security, managing Project Online enterprise global including creation of custom views, tables, various types of fields; managing enterprise resource pool by adding, revising, and utilizing multiple cost tables; and inactivating resources.20%Provides expert knowledge in the use of Project Online cost and scheduling tools for the Historic Preservation Training Center and NPS, providing expert scheduling assistance and resolution of scheduling issues quickly and efficiently using both the tools in Microsoft Project Online and previous scheduling expertise. The contractor will also facilitate project review sessions to report on percent of project complete, milestone accomplishments, enterprise data updates, etc. with each DSC business line and other agency-wide entities, providing real-time reporting during the sessions with the division and branch chiefs and project managers.20%Will use knowledge of Project Online?s data structure to generate reports and dashboards using Excel, SSRS, SSAS, and Power BI. will work closely with all project managers within DSC and NPS wide to create and track project schedules residing in the Project Online database.20%Use BI Software (Power BI, SSRS, Power Query, and Tableau) and SQL to create or assist others in building data visualization dashboards and reporting solutions that provide meaningful insight to operational results20%Design and develop ETL processes using Power BI Dataflows or other related tools and technologies. Lead data analysis sessions with the user community to capture and define data requirements clearly, completely, and correctly. Gather and translate business requirements into clearly understood documentation, ERD diagrams, data models, data flow charts, and data dictionaries. Troubleshoot the Power BI Premium environment problems and tune for performance. Diagnose and resolve application bottlenecks and performance issues. Define and enforce Power BI standards, design styles and best practices.
