Kelly Science has an exciting contract opportunity for a Quality Microbiology Technician in Greer SC. This role is responsible for overseeing the day to day microbiology lab operations including the implementation and monitoring of quantitative and qualitative microbiological testing activities to facilitate compliance with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Location: Greer, SC Hourly Pay Rate: $25-30 Contract length: 6 month with potential for extension or conversion Responsibilities: Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the laboratory, warehouse or production areas.
Adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements.
Adhere to good laboratory practiced as outlined in the company food safety and safety policies.
Ensure all product, ingredient and environment samples are collected and analysis is completed per the company schedule.
Maintain accurate, legible records of all tests and retests performed. Complete all other required reports (work orders, action reports, etc.) in a timely manner.
Ensure proficiency in the use of all micro equipment utilized for the analysis of product, ingredients, and environmental samples.
Ensure lab supply levels are maintained and supplies are ordered in a timely manner to assure no interruption in testing.
Assuring lab equipment is maintained, calibrated and serviced per the manufacture's guidelines for optimal operation.
Communicate out of specification sample results to management for initiation of escalation protocols as needed to assure appropriate disposition of any affected ingredients, product or equipment.
Requirements: Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality within a laboratory environment, preferably food/beverage industry
Knowledge of quality systems (GMP, HACCP, SQF) – certification ideal
Experience in Food/ Beverage Laboratory management preferred
Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP and Power Point
