POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Crew Foreman, the Laborer/Operator travels with the micro-surfacing crew to resurface roads in Utah and surrounding states.
DUTIES:
Learn how to operate the Micro Surfacing paving equipment, as assigned. Squeegee / shovel the micro surface in a manner that will provide a quality finish of the micro surface. Maintain a clean work environment by assisting in the cleanup of trash and debris. Operate all machinery in a safe and proper way in order to avoid accidents or undue maintenance or repair work. QUALIFICATIONS:
Attention and commitment to safety. Must be able to follow directions and work well in a team environment. Must be willing to work long hours in extreme outdoor temperatures and be able to safely move at least 100 pounds. Class A CDL is preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/SAFETY:
Sitting: 10% of the time. Standing/Walking: 90% of the time. Driving: Travel is required, both locally and out of town. Weight Lifted: Must frequently be able to lift and transfer up to 100 pounds. Physical Movement: May be required to walk over uneven ground, balance, stoop/crouch, kneel, grab and hold objects. Speaking/Listening: Needs to be able to communicate will with customers, vendors, supervision, receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements. Working Conditions: 100% of time will be spent working outside in the elements. Must be able to work long and irregular hours (early and late) during the busy season.
