Metallurgist Engineer Location Columbus, OH (Industrial Site area) : Location: Columbus, US The Hirschvogel Group is among the most successful manufacturers of forged steel and aluminum parts. More than 6,000 employees worldwide produce forged parts and components for the automotive industry and its system suppliers. At our plant in Columbus, Ohio/USA more than 300 employees manufacture automotive parts in large-series production by means of forging and machining. We're looking for a Metallurgist Engineer to join our Quality Management team. This role is for a multi-talented, energetic person who is prepared to roll up their sleeves to help build the foundation for the team. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the development, application, and maintenance of quality control systems.

What You Would Do Represent the company in a professional and respectful manner Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information Adherence to 5S principles Conduct/Control Failure analysis Manage Tool Life Improvement Selects material types and chemical composition in conjunction with customer's needs Selects heat treat and control cool processing types and parameters in conjunction with customer and internal processing needs Determines need for and selects equipment to support the lab function Performs or assigns analysis of material or transformative processing defects Represents the materials lab for customer/external auditing and visits Supervision of materials lab staff, dependent on org chart Scheduling and directing the materials lab staff Review and development of materials lab staff Identify training needs and scheduling training for lab staff Performs periodic audits of Supplier Quality Systems for the purpose of assuring continued supplier conformance to the quality system requirements Uses Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Quality Process (AQP) tools and metrics, proactively identifies and implements improvements to supplier quality processes Works with project teams to define deliverables, to plan project, etc. as it involves materials and processing Ensures the area of responsibility follows applicable standards What you will bring Bachelor's Degree in related Metallurgic Engineering or at least 4 years on the job work experience Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task Expertise in advanced metallurgy, supervision, Microsoft Office/SAP, Project Management, Advanced Quality Principles, Problem solution and prevention, communication and customer orientation skills What you will get Competitive Salary Vacation/PTO/Paid Holidays Medical/Dental/Vision 401k Fitness Subsidy Free Parking Tuition Assistance Program Employee Discount Programs If you have any questions please contact Holly Sipusic and we look forward to receiving your online application.
