Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medication Tech to join our team. As a Medication Tech, you will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in administering medication to patients. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safe and accurate delivery of medications, while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare professionals in accurately preparing and administering medication to patients.
- Follow established protocols and safety guidelines to minimize medication errors.
- Maintain accurate documentation and record medication administration in electronic health records (EHR).
- Monitor and report any suspected adverse reactions or medication errors to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective communication and coordinated care.
- Adhere to infection control procedures and maintain a clean and organized medication preparation area.
- Monitor medication supply levels and coordinate the ordering and delivery of medications.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Certification as a Medication Technician is preferred.
- Proven experience working in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or long-term care facility.
- Knowledge and understanding of medication administration procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with medication terminology and dosage calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and respect privacy rights.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
