Responsibilities
• Demonstrates proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection• Handles and collects specimens safely and with proper techniques• Labels, accession, and delivers specimens to the proper department• Responds promptly to phlebotomy requests and communicates information• Educates patients and restocks phlebotomy trays and procurement areas• Processes patient samples for testing and evaluates specimen quality• Processes unusual test requests for reference laboratory• Performs required quality control testing and CAP Proficiency testing
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology• Good verbal and written communication skills required• Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft applications required
