Medical Director

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Under policy direction is responsible for directing the medical operations of the Adult and Magistrate Court Department, Detention Health Care Services (DHCS). Primary responsibilities include clinical monitoring, process improvement efforts and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities also include handling of confidential information. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Must have a medical degree and be board certified in internal medicine, primary care or related field, have a minimum of 2 years indigent, public health and/or correctional health care experience and a minimum of 4 years clinical experience. Previous management experience is preferred to include knowledge and understanding of quality management procedures. Previous medical director experience desirable.
LICENSURE
Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas. Board certification in specialty is required. Must maintain current ACLS certification. Must maintain DEA and DPS numbers. Must follow regulations as set forth by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners Medical Practice Act.
