Medical Administrative Specialist -Ob/Gyn

Market Range: 04 Hiring Salary: $18.54/Hourly THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Medical Administrative Specialist 2 provides administrative support to UT Internal Medicine & OB/Gyn Center including insurance verification of accounts, surgery precertification and scheduling, maintenance of delivery log, and verification of insurance consent forms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Coordinates surgery schedules for OBGYN Resident Physicians and multiple providers. Completes pre-certification and verifies insurance coverage for scheduled surgeries. Ensures consent forms are completed prior to surgery. Verifies patient insurance seen in the office and in the hospital billed through UT Internal Medicine & OB/Gyn Center. Relays information to the front desk for clarification upon patient arrival. Maintains all global delivery HEDIS reporting to insurance companies. Receives and logs deliveries submitted to UT OB/Gyn Center for billing. Gathers quality data and assists with care coordination. Performs other related duties as assigned.
