We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Designer to join our DuPont Experimental Station Team located in Wilmington, DE Your key responsibilities: The Mechanical Engineer Designer contributes to programs across multiple businesses through machine concepts, prototype development and commercialized design.
+ Works on multiple programs simultaneously and drives for results. This position will receive direction and work closely with GET Engineers, plant personnel and external vendors.
+ Provide leadership, experience and knowledge required to design mechanical equipment and machine systems.
+ Emphasis of this position is the ability to work as part of a team to develop mechanical/electrical concepts and ideas into industrial plant scale equipment.
Qualifications: + Must have an AAS degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
+ Demonstrated machine design ability and application of mechanical devices and systems with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
+ Proficient using Creo design and Windchill data management tools or alike software.
+ Strong understanding of machine manufacturing and assembly processes. Ability to estimate cost associated with machine parts, assembly, and development activities.
+ Demonstrated ability to work with a team or independently, developing custom electromechanical equipment when commercial solutions are not available.
+ Able to perform engineering calculations required for machine design activities and data collection.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with construction team, operations, and plant maintenance to ensure business needs are met.
+ Working knowledge of mechanical disciplines, commercially available hardware and demonstrated application. Strong mechanical hands-on skills required. Demonstrated ability to inspect and measure precision machine parts. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and create solutions by drawing on past experiences, intuition, and deductive skills independently.
