Overview Our client is a manufacturer of electromechanical vehicle control systems and drivetrain components. They have partnered with the US Department of Energy on the development of a prototype high voltage vehicle. They are currently in the proof-of-concept phase of development and are adding a mechanical designer to support this effort.
In this role, you will take direction from lead engineers in order to design mechanical aspects of high voltage systems. Mechanical design responsibilities from proof of concept, design, verification, prototyping through product launch. You will be required to work onsite but with flexibility.
Responsibilities: Utilize Creo for solid modeling, design, and development of engineering drawings.
Design castings, machined parts.
Stack up analysis and GD&T.
Attend design reviews and modify drawings.
Integrate electrical components such as wire harness, batteries, inverters into drawings.
Collaborate with global design team, electrical engineering team, project leaders, technical leaders, and manufacturing staff at all levels.
Qualifications: BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related, preferred
3-5 years relevant mechanical design experience with degree, 10+ years' experience in lieu of degree
Strong design knowledge with castings, machined parts, assembly drawings, required
GD&T, stack up analysis required
Experience incorporating electrical/electronic components into mechanical drawings, required
Experience with high voltage design with integration of components, invertors, or batteries highly preferred.
R&D or New Product Development experience a plus
