Vicor serves customers in enterprise and high-performance computing, industrial equipment and automation, robotics, UAVs, vehicles and transportation, satellites, and aerospace and defense.This position requires a person with Mechanical acumen to develop, check, create and maintain Mechanical documents for several Designs and their relevant Manufacturing processes.Responsibilities:* As Mech/CAD Admin,o Manage installation & licensing of Altium, SOLIDWORKS, and SOLIDWORKS Vault, dedicated and floating licenses.o Work with Purchasing on license renewal and software maintenance, to ensure no interruptions in function and productivity of users.o Troubleshoot to isolate source(s) of the problems as result of software, or user/operator error, and resolve themSubmit documentation to Item Approval Systems (IAS), internal PLM and/or PDM application, ECO Drawing and BOM maintenance.Create PCB Fabrication documents from Altium and ODB files.Perform Mechanical review of a new PCB assembly in 3-D, to ensure no violations of Vicor guidelines and industry standards, before PCB is ordered.Create standard set of mechanical documents and drawings for the assembly and manufacturing processes (Document BOM), for each PCB, using CAD automated tools or SolidWorks models.Review Mechanical models and assembly files for accuracy prior to releasing to MFG, and collaborate with other team members for their approval or possible edits, as needed.Performs related high quality work as required.Minimum Requirements:Associate degree or equivalent in a technical school, college, or university with major course work in drafting and mechanical engineering.5 years of CAD Design and detailing experience.Proficiency with SolidWorks and Product Data Management systems, and Altium. PCB Fabrication documents (BluePrint) is a plusKnowledge of the basic principles, methods, and practices involved in the design of mechanical systems for electronic products.Strong organizational and time management skills, including handling multiple projects simultaneously; meeting tight deadlines and reacting quickly to changes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience communicating project status to internal clients.
