Volt is immediately hiring Mechanical Assembler for a local leading Manufacturing Company in Poway
As a Mechanical Assembler you will: Read and interpret production drawings, blueprints, sample drawings, written instructions and informal assembly drawings Read and follow work release information and Engineering Change Order (ECO) Tend to machines such as press, shape/mold, and mixing (urethanes and glue) Trim, shaves, or adjust materials from produced products to follow electrical or dimensional specifications Perform in-line inspections to ensure parts and assemblies meet specs and standards Performs variety of production operations such as soldering/de-soldering ceramic materials, assembly/disassembly, bolts, screws, glues, and testing Perform transitional assembly tasks such as sanding, cleaning, curing, stamping, epoxy bonding, potting, encapsulating, and color coding parts Conduct inspection testing on assemblies using tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, wrenches, screwdrivers, hammer, etc. This is a Temporary role with possibility of temp-to-hire Opportunity
The ideal candidate will have: Requires a high school education or equivalent (GED) Minimum of 2-5 years closely related experience Must be able to demonstrate soldering proficiency Demonstrate mechanical assembly knowledge Able to read/interpret blueprints, bill of materials, drawings, written instructions Basic computer skills needed to be able to perform documentation Basic mathematics, calculations, including ratios and fractions Exhibit strong mechanical knowledge Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices is a plus U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data. ITAR regulations dictate that information and material pertaining to defense and military related technologies may only be shared with US Persons unless authorization from the Department of State is received or a special exemption is used Schedule: 1st Shift 5am-1:30pm Monday-Friday Possible Overtime work on Saturday Pay Rate: $20/hr plus overtime as needed.
*Pay Rate offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
