The Material regulatory compliance (MRC) specialist within the RL Quality and Compliance team will lead and champion MRC compliance across RL products. Candidate is expected to have demonstrated skills in collecting full material disclosures, has a strong background in material regulations for consumer electronics and environmental compliance requirements, ideally in the consumer electronics space.
Materials Regulatory Compliance Specialist Responsibilities
* Build and maintain full material disclosure for RL products in working with vendors and with cross functional teams
Work with compliance leads to collecting necessary material and compliance data to support product certification.
Conduct and maintain compliance data to support compliance to REACH SVHC, ROHS, TSCA, Prop 65, PFAS and other applicable regulations
Work with cross-functional teams to roll out environmental compliance of new accessory partners and verify results
Register and report with global regulatory bodies as required.
Build and maintain a database of material compliance data collected from vendors and partners.
Explore and onboard commercially available systems to meet RL compliance needs
Conducting hands-on, active environmental compliance work to ascertain a product's REACH, SVHC, RoHS, Prop65, and related environmental material certifications.
Minimum Qualifications
* 3+ years of environmental material or compliance engineering experience.
Bachelors degree
Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Experience presenting to technical audiences
Experience with environmental compliance work
Preferred Qualifications
* Understanding of the European Union directives on electronics, packaging, and battery waste including manufacturers obligations.
U.S. state, Canadian province and global obligations and initiatives related to the responsible recycling of consumer electronics.
Experience conducting environmental compliance work to ascertain a product's REACH, SVHC, RoHS, Prop65, and related environmental material certifications.
Experience with standard tools and databases available in the industry for materials compliance tracking and reporting
Experience working in consumer electronic devices and accessories
Masters or PhD in Chemistry, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Toxicology, Materials Science or a related field field
