Primary Responsibilities   Create and maintain 2D kanban barcode labels as needed. Create and maintain SCI tables/order methods tables etc. A ssure kanbans are properly controlled, including the approval of non-replenishable kanbans (NRK's). Troubleshoot kanban, autogen issues with Bills of Material (BOM), purchase orders, etc. Support the plant with updates and improvements to the kanban and autogen spreadsheets. Provide data as required to support material flow improvements resulting from optimizing autogen and kanban levels. Support Purchasing and suppliers to implement autogen and kanban systems from designated suppliers of production materials. Determine new kanbans and reorder points and adjust current items to support manufacturing schedules. Perform autogen, kanban administration activities, as noted above, for suppliers who are included in the Supply Chain Integration (SCI) program. Activities may include training , and acting as the liaison between Crown assembly operations and the Buyer-Planners regarding SCI administration.
Evaluate the needs of Production and Service requirements through the Material Requirements Planning (MRP). Place purchase orders, reschedule current purchase orders as necessary, or cancel purchase orders to support the needs of Production and Service requirements from other subsidiaries. Contact those manufacturing plants as necessary to ensure delivery of parts meets current Production and Service requirements.
Analyze planning reports such as MRP, Reorder Point, Rescheduling, etc. which capture purchase part requirements. Forecast, schedule and coordinate these needs with subsidiaries. Manage the correct levels of inventory. Analyze current methods and procedures for continuous improvement. Analyze actual demand, trends and forecasts and adjust inventory plans accordingly.
Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Materials and the Buyer-Planners to implement the material replenishment strategy determined for autogen and the kanban size for new parts. Support manufacturing personnel and assembly operators by determining material storage space requirements for manufacturing area layouts. Review Bills of Material, material requirements, and inventory levels associated with new parts to ensure availability to production during the different phases of the product development process. Confer with Buyer-Planners to manage inventory levels of autogen and kanban parts to mitigate risk of obsolete material associated with outgoing product.
Manage parts management information such as lead-time, safety time, order quantities, reorder point and lead time. This data is used in conjunction with MRP to determine the necessary quantity and delivery.
Participate in assigned projects with Manufacturing Engineering, Materials and Production Control to improve manufacturing processes. Train personnel in areas where processes have changed or evolved. Participate in cross training to provide back-up support upon absence due to vacations, illnesses, etc. Provide general SCI support as required to improve manufacturing and office processes as directed by the Supervisor of Purchased Materials . Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications 0-4 years related experience
High school graduate or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
· A high school diploma and some background in lean manufacturing, along with three to five years experience of materials management in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience utilizing pull systems and/or kanbans is desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP are preferred. Must demonstrate good communication and organizational skills
