Materials Manager

Job summary
Responsible for overall materials function and leading production control, shipping, receiving, warehouse management, and inventory controlEnsure on-time delivery of customer orders, optimize personnel, equipment, freight, and inventories, acquire materials on-time, anticipate and resolve problemsSelect, train and develop competent departmental and material handling staff
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Monitor and ensure departmental personnel conform to company policies and procedures• Establish, monitor, and control department budget• Implement purchasing, production scheduling, logistics, and inventory control processes• Manage inbound/outbound transportation routes and coordinate engineering changes and new product launches• Utilize Supplier Standards Manual and assist with resolving substandard or rejected materials• Responsible for warehouse and material replenishment, determining appropriate material handling equipment and staffing levels
Requirements
• Demonstrated knowledge of ERP Systems / Order Fulfillment• Competency in MS Office Suite• Key metric success in Material Operations in a plant environment• Automotive Manufacturing experience / JIT Assembly / Processing• Above average communication skills - oral, written, and presentation• Superior organization, coordination, planning, and delegation skills• Superior process, analytical, and problem-solving skills• Superior leadership skills• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make quick decisions• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Finance• 8 to 10 years of applicable materials management experience; 5 to 7 years of formal management/leadership experience• APICS CPIM certification (desirable)• Experience with lean manufacturing techniques, supply chain visibility tools, and ERP SAP System (desirable)• Travel as required
