Job Description and Duties Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department is accepting applications for at least (1) Permanent, Full-time Materials and Stores Specialist (MSS). This vacancy exists in the Main Warehouse and is under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Manager.
The MSS is a lead position over lower-level Warehouse staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: receipt, storage, issuance, and shipping of a large volume of various supplies and equipment for the entire hospital; accurately verifying goods received against bills of lading, purchase orders, and storeroom supply orders; preparing bills of lading, completing accurate inventory, cycle counts, and quarterly audits utilizing Total Package database system; support a safe working environment.
The successful candidate must have strong knowledge and experience in the practices and methods of warehousing with the ability to train and lead staff effectively; the ability to communicate efficiently with hospital staff, management, and outside vendors; excellent organizational skills; the ability to perform heavy physical labor; the experience and ability to operate material handling equipment, such as a forklift, pallet jack, etc.; operation of a computer database and email.

Working Conditions Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital and was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.
