Responsibilities
• Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.• Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.• Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.• Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.• Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).• Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.• Securing loads to machine before transportation.• When problems arise, resolves issues with contractors or vendors.• Manages inventory by utilizing RFGen scanning equipment.• Identifies and reporting workplace safety hazards.• Maintains cleanliness of assigned area and surrounding areas.• Works closely with leaders and other employees in a team environment.• Must obtain valid fork truck license and certification within first 30 days of employment.• Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.• Follows all Great Dane safety requirements when transporting loads and otherwise.• Ensures fork truck safety inspection sheet is completed daily.• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Employee must be able to accurately read a tape measure.• Employee must be able to remember how to perform multiple tasks from day to day.• Employee must be able to perform the physical requirements listed in that section of this job description.• Employee must look for potential cost savings in the work process, help keep scrap and waste to a minimum and be efficient in use of all supplies.• The employee must perform the assigned tasks in a way they meet or exceed the required production level.• 1-2 years of previous fork truck experience preferred.• 1-2 years of previous experience working with a scan gun preferred.• Ability to work with hands.• Aptitude to learn and retain new information.• Ability to follow instructions, given either verbally or in writing.• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.• Ability to communicate effectively in English.• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.• Good math skills.• Efficient time management skills.
