Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) OSUPC Marketing and Digital Communication Assistant for OSUPC at Oregon State University (OSU).


OSUPC produces zero/low-cost, social events and activities that build community, create a sense of belonging among OSU students. OSUPC Promotions and Digital Communications Specialist supports the communication and promotional needs of OSUPC programs and acts as a resource for OSUPC Event Specialists and Event Production Assistants. This position works closely with the OSUPC Coordinator, and the Orange Media Network Creative Team and Marketing Team to increase visibility for and engagement with OSUPC within the OSU community. For the 2024-25 school year, we are seeking students who will think critically, creatively, and openly in a team-based environment.
OSUPC , along with Clubs & Orgs and Orange Media Network ( OMN ), are part of Experiential Learning and Activities ( ELA ) – the hub for student organizations, media, and creative expression. ELA's mission is to provide resources, advising and a platform that helps students of all identities build community, create media, and launch activities that reflect their passions, cultures and lived experiences. ELA is a department of Student Experiences and Engagement (SEE) organization within the Division of Student Affairs.


Position Duties Promotion & Digital Communication (60%) Develop the overall OSPUC communication and marketing plan, including consistent engagement with the OSU community and assessment analysis of feedback
Curate graphics, text copy, social media posts and website content for OSUPC digital assets Make posts in conjunction and relevance with OSUPC events on Instagram and Tiktok Stay up to date with current and relevant trends Meet one-on-one with OSUPC Event Planners to create marketing plans (including timelines and communications plans) for all OSUPC events
For major OSUPC events, serve as primary contact and facilitator for OMN Marketing & Creative, including submission of design requests and meeting facilitation
Reserve advertisement space around campus and greater Corvallis area Post OSUPC events on all relevant community calendars and attendance tracking systems
General Event Support (20%) Attend and support OSUPC and other ELA events as needed Work closely with OMN marketers to promote OSUPC and OMN events Photograph (or arrange for photography at) OSUPC events when needed Actively post and engage the OSU community through OSUPC social media platforms during events
Administrative Responsibilities (10%) Assist in setting and accomplishing goals for OSUPC Maintain regular office hours to assist in the facilitation of day-to-day tasks and to facilitate general office duties like answering DMs or emails and staying up to date with events and office "to-dos"
Attend OSUPC staff meetings and engage in ongoing training, professional development, and community building Support the development & maintenance of educational tools, trainings and tutorials Complete other administrative tasks as needed
Other Position Responsibilities (10%) May be asked to serve on a committee or work group within SOA, ELA, or SEE Work to learn, enhance, and promote diversity and social justice Represent OSUPC to OSU and Corvallis community Uphold the values of SOA, ELA, and SEE Participate in signature SEE or ELA-wide events and programming each term Engage in ongoing professional development and community building Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here:


Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center. Additional Required Qualifications Experience working collaboratively as a part of a team Ability to organize work, manage time, and follow through on tasks in a self-directed environment Desire or interest in working with a variety of organizations and people from diverse cultures, communication styles, histories, and team structures
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills Must be an enrolled for at least 6 academic credits (undergraduates) or 3 academic credits (graduates) at Oregon State University or an affiliated institution (like Linn-Benton Community College) throughout employment
Must be in good academic standing for the term prior to selection and during entire period of employment Must maintain at least a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (undergraduates) or 3.0 (graduates) and be in good academic standing Preferred (Special) Qualifications Previous experience working for any of the units in SEE Experience engaging traditionally underrepresented social identities (i.e. Race, Gender, Gender Identity, or Ability) Experience managing and creating digital content in a professional setting Consistent access to a smartphone Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills Knowledge of or experience with project management Knowledge of or experience in digital communications and marketing Experience in leadership activities, student organizations, community service and/or outreach activities Demonstrated knowledge of design software, like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite Experience with Drupal Knowledge on copyright policies and how to give credit Eligible to return as an OSU student for the 2025-26 academic year (Junior standing or below) Working Conditions / Work Schedule Terms: Term of employment is September 9,2024 through June 13, 2025; opportunities to work before this date may be available. Expected to work an average of 10-24 hours per week Expected to work frequent evening and weekend hours, as required, to support programming Required to attend weekly staff meetings, supervisory meetings, and committee or work group meetings Pay rate ranges based on years of experience, new staff start at $15.90/hour
Training Commitment: Fall Training: September 9, 2024 through September 13, 2024 Strongly encouraged to attend other leadership and social justice training opportunities throughout the year OSU
