The role of the Manufacturing Project Manager is to plan, execute, finalize projects according to deadlines, and within budget through the full project life cycle. Responsibilities include creation, tracking, updating, communicating all project efforts, and ensuring all communication is flowing throughout project team members as a whole. The Project Manager is responsible for project integrity to maintain costs and deliverables in accordance with customer contracts, including but not limited to tooling, equipment design, build, and product development. Work closely with customers, suppliers, engineers, toolmakers, manufacturing, and operations.
Essential Job Functions Coordinate, manage manufacturing projects through project life cycle, making detailed plans to accomplish goals, and directing the integration of technical activities. Lead Cross Functional teams through successful completion of project life cycle adhering to established gates and project goals. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Ability to take initiative to identify challenges, solve problems in an efficient and positive manner, detail-oriented, and able to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Maintain an active role in the review process of RFQs and new projects.
Keep accurate documentation of quote details. Manage and report on mold project budgets regularly (Plan vs. Actual).
Work closely with engineering team, outside vendors, and customers to properly schedule and manage costs of projects. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Follow up with team members to ensure project deliverables are on schedule and escalate as required. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. Track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Proactively track & monitor health and status of projects tracking all changes update project schedules and dependencies with information received from team members. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle. Conduct project summaries and create a recommendations report to identify lessons learned during project.
Identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.  Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline or equivalent education/experience.  PMP certification or equivalent preferred. 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. 3-5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including aspects of process development and execution. Understanding of plastics manufacturing including extrusion & molding preferred, the design and build of tooling and related inspection/quality documentation processes. Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office; project planning and related tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.) Display a keen sense of urgency and self-motivation in executing tasks and meeting objectives. Ability to adapt and prioritize meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Organized individual who works well independently and collaboratively with other departments in a team-oriented environment. Work as part of a Cross functional team and independently with excellent personal time management skills, creating a collaborative project environment is essential. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and Problem-solving capabilities. Flexible during times of change. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong research capabilities.
