What you'll doWithin the Manufacturing Engineering scope, the Product Engineering team evaluates, reports, and achieves manufacturability KPI's by consulting with R&D on optimal product design.Success is achieved by intimate knowledge of product design, production process and project management. The "Specialist Manufacturing Engineering Bodyshop Finish" is responsible for the manufacturing process in Bodyshop. You will report to the Manager, Bodyshop at Production Planning.Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:Your goal is to improve the product, design the vehicles according to the needs of manufacturing and to enable stable and ergonomic processes that are feasible for high volume manufacturingIdentify, decide and implement technical requirements from manufacturing to influence product design for fit and finishCollaborate with manufacturing, quality, production control, and engineering to provide product design and product concepts according to the needs of Bodyshop.Use CAD-Data-Analysis, Simulations and virtual tests to identify risks for high volume manufacturingIdentify and implement ideas to improve product design to ensure stable processes in bodyshop and minimal rework in series productionEnsure that all products are designed to meet fit and finish requirements and that product design is feasible for high volume manufacturingTake responsibility for all communication between production planning bodyshop and engineering department as Single point of contact for all vehicle design related topicsUse cross departmental collaboration to meet and exceed company goals and objectives in the field of design for manufacturingCoordinating activities within the team that outline and achieve project goals.Providing instruction and guidance about required techniques and regulations.Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and events. The role will be based out of a Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina.
