Salary Information Starting salary: $85,407 – $100,479
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. The starting salary range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Job Summary Provide leadership and development of comprehensive Youth Consortium and Special Education Programs (STRIVE & STRIVE Academy) for students in the DMACC district. Provide and oversee academic, life skills, employment, and transitional educational experiences for students. Design, implement and supervise programming along with staff and faculty on day-to-day operations for Youth at Risk and Special Education Programs.


Essential Functions Lead and manage strategic development initiatives, implementation and evaluation of department programs, operational objectives, public relations, and outreach activities for the Strive and Youth Consortium programs. Create, maintain, and evaluate data for future program growth. Develop strong partnerships with area high schools and provide them with students' progress. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations and businesses. Utilize effective communication and human relations skills .


Supervise department faculty and staff including personnel actions related to hiring, compensation, performance evaluation, training, leave, discipline, work schedules and assignments.

Identify, execute, and manage processes to connect and align high schools and DMACC students to IEP objectives.

Oversee contracts with high schools, manage billing and budgeting for programs, marketing of the programs, student documentation, and Individual Education Plans.

Perform other duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications Master's degree in special education with a STRAT endorsement and secondary education endorsement.
Two years teaching experience in a secondary special education classroom.
Three years of direct related program work experience encompassing
proficiency in building relationships with high school administrators and teachers throughout the central Iowa region to develop post secondary transitions for students, a proven record of developing new programs (program courses, curriculum and procedures) in an educational setting, budget management and supervisory experience for full and part-time staff.
Foster a safe and respectful learning environment.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations.
Ability to plan, organize and manage time.
Knowledge of current software applications.


Desired Qualifications Knowledge of DMACC academic programs.
