Job Summary / Purpose Under the clinical direction of the Radiation Oncologists, the Radiation Oncology Manager is a clinical leader who provides supervision, and clinical oversight as an essential member of the radiation oncology team. The individual primarily directs and coordinates the overall day-to-day business operations for the clinic and treatment areas, as well as the practice management functions of the office. Ensures implementation of processes and controls to ensure communication and information flow between sites of service, hospital management, and the radiation oncology physician practice. The manager oversees human resource decisions, accreditation/regulatory standards, fiscal adherence, productivity and establishes policies/procedures that are in line with improving the patient experience. This position works in collaboration with the Oncology Operations Manager and the Oncology Operations Director to promote the growth and integration of the Oncology Service line.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities Supervision of designated employees: Provides leadership and mentoring of staff performance through: Recruitment and retention Orientation process  Annual evaluation, based on objective feedback from performance period  Disciplinary action, ranging from counseling to documented performance  Termination process, consistent with HR policies and procedures  Assures compliance through:  Mandatory education  Ongoing competencies and validations  Employee health requirements  Accreditation and Regulatory standards  Maintains personal competence in risk areas that may affect department are: Management of fiscal resources  Provides day-to-day fiscal leadership  Demonstrates an ability to manage/monitor the department within the resources allotted each fiscal year  Facilitates purchased services, contracts, and service maintenance requirements with each vendor  Monitors productivity/utilization of FTEs to minimizes overtime, and eliminates unnecessary resource usage  Identifies operational opportunities to minimize expense through workflow redesign/process mapping Collaborates with Administrative Leaders on Business and Strategic Planning  Partners with the Market Director & Director, Oncology Operations to develop future budgets, capital requests, staffing and operational expenses  Collaborates with the Market Director & Director, Oncology Operations Demonstration of leadership:  Demonstrates a commitment the mission, vision, and values of CHI Saint Joseph Health  Provides leadership guidance for all physician-related issues that team members encounter during their daily activities  Works collaboratively across departments throughout the hospital to promote a cohesive and patient centric service for the cancer program  Promote Clinical Care:  Ensures clinical practice is maintained in accordance with general safety, department/service safety, health hazard standards, and national patient safety goals  Directs the establishment and ongoing compliance of American College of Radiology (ACR) Radiation Oncology accreditation  Ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies such as TJC, CMS, etc.  Analyzes and appraises the effectiveness of radiation oncology services and develops and executes specific actions to continuously improve and monitor performance  Ensures implementation of standard radiation therapy and practice procedures throughout the department  Recruits interdepartmental professionals to lead education programs, in-services, and M&M conferences/workshops  Develops policies and procedures in accordance with the growth of the Radiation Oncology field and changing technology demands  Supports Healing Community initiatives  Attends all required safety training programs and meetings  Clinical and Customer Relations:  Customer Service Excellence  Ensures the resolution of patient complaints or problems regarding patient care, customer service or related issues  Solicits customer feedback to improve the patient experience  Establishes expectation among direct reports to have a customer-focused approach to all individuals associated with Cancer Services-patients, physicians and others individuals.  Clinical Care Practice  Enhances clinical development within the department across disciplines.  Maintains own professional competency. Required Education and Experience  Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 1 year experience in the discipline OR 3 years' medical experience in the discipline OR Master's Degree and no experience

RTR
BLS-CPR within 5 days

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training Basic computer skills 
Able to operate standard office equipment 
Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills 
Able to work well with minimal supervision 
Good clinical knowledge of all aspects of the medical practice environment.
Must be flexible to work above standard hours to meet staffing needs 
Comprehensive knowledge of oncology patient care and support processes, basic business skills including budgeting, operating within a defined budget, reporting data relevant to operations, strong leadership skills, change management skills, critical thinking abilities.
