Job description IOWN Renewable Energy, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Permitting to join our team. This is an opportunity to support the growth of IOWN and IOWN clients by utilizing your development and project management experience. This would be a fantastic opportunity to step into a smaller, innovative and nimble team putting to use your passion for leadership and utility-scale project development in wind all while working collaboratively with the solar and standalone storage teams in North America.
The candidate will work for a rapidly growing renewable energy company headquartered in San Diego which seeks an innovative, focused, and motivated leader to start a team of professionals doing commercial modeling of projects and deal structures.
Remote candidates will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates who live in or can relocate to San Diego area, CA.
Seniority level will be based on candidate experience.
About the Position As the Manager, Permitting, you will lead the permitting process for solar, wind, and standalone storage projects from inception to completion. This includes overseeing the preparation and submission of permit applications, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental laws and regulations.

Requirements A minimum of bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent experience in a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy project permitting, with a focus on solar, wind, and standalone storage projects. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated expertise in NEPA and CEQA compliance, including experience preparing environmental impact statements/reports and navigating regulatory approvals. Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills. Strong cross-cultural relationship building and influencing at all organizational levels. Flexible and cooperative with a well-developed team spirit. Responsibilities Lead the permitting process for solar, wind, and standalone storage projects from inception to completion. NEPA/CEQA Compliance: Serve as the primary point of contact for all NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) and CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) compliance matters. Manage consultant scope and preparation of environmental assessments, environmental impact statements/reports, and identify mitigation measures to address potential environmental impacts. Identify potential permitting risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively. Stay informed about changes in environmental regulations and permit requirements that may impact project timelines or feasibility. Work closely with project development, engineering, legal, and finance teams to integrate permitting requirements into project plans and schedules.
