Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, accreditation, and licensure requirements, and providing leadership in pharmacy operations, including sterile and non-sterile compounding, drug procurement and inventory management, drug diversion prevention, fiscal accountability, and scheduling and staffing.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive program to ensure compliance with USP797 regulatory standards Serve as Designated Person for all sterile and non-sterile compounding, including hazardous compounding Create and maintain pharmacy operations policies and procedures Participate in medication management to ensure adherence to accreditation standards Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice Oversee drug procurement, storage, inventory management, and dispensing procedures Optimize Omnicell utilization and participate in controlled substance inventories Manage drug diversion prevention and monitoring activities Ensure proper handling and accountability for expired drugs and drug waste Design and manage department training programs for staff orientation and training Qualifications: Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy, advanced degree preferred ASAP-accredited residency (PGY1/PGY2) preferred Registered Pharmacist license in West Virginia Minimum five years of practice experience in acute care pharmacy, including USP 797, 795, and 800 experience Three years of pharmacy automation experience Three years of experience with controlled substance diversion investigations Attributes: Strong communication skills, both oral and written Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Dedication to patient care and safety Join us at Raleigh General Hospital and make a difference in the lives of our patients and our community.
