Job Description: Summary Are you an experienced, hands-on digital media professional who is passionate about helping students create, make, and innovate? The Student Innovation Center is seeking qualified candidates for a Manager of Media Production who will provide leadership and be responsible for managing the facilities, equipment, and personnel for the Digital Media Studio and the Electronics, Textiles and 3D Printing Makerspace.
For personnel management, the Manager is responsible for: managing a work team, directing and guiding work, meeting goals and deadlines, training and developing staff, ensuring accountability and performance, building effective teams and driving employee engagement. The Manager is often a working supervisor performing work alongside those being supervised. For operations management, the Manager is responsible for: overseeing the operations, maintenance, safety, and security of the equipment and software in the Digital Media Studio and Electronics, Textiles and 3D Printing Makerspace; developing, implementing, and managing protocols, standard operating procedures, trainings, and inspections; ensuring compliance with regulations, standards, and policies; preparing budgets; performing data collection and analysis; and ensuring good customer service. Collaborate with shop supervisors and other stakeholders to determine additional equipment needs and forecast future upgrades.
This position also provides support for events as well as building support when needed.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, team building, and problem-solving skills. The demonstrated ability to work independently; manage, prioritize, and schedule complex projects with multiple deadlines; make independent judgments and take initiative to create enhanced outcomes are essential.
A creative, enthusiastic self-starter with demonstrated flexibility when working under uncertainty and an ability to react quickly to changing needs will also be needed to be successful in this position. The successful candidate has the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be the subject matter expert on all equipment and technologies in the assigned areas.

Example of Duties Establishes production standards and evaluates production requirements. Manages media production needs. Leads design, development, and use of media. Oversees development of storyboards, scripts, and visuals. Operates a variety of equipment in production of media projects. Shoots videos and photos, which may include live events. Leads in editing of content as final decision-maker. Oversees creation of animation, graphics, and other digital content for productions. Prepares cost estimates, budgets and reports. Supervises staff.
