Short Description This position is ambulatory focused and travel between all ambulatory locations is required. • The Infection Prevention (IP) manager shall use a systematic approach to monitor the effectiveness of prevention and control strategies that are consistent with the organization's goals and objectives. The IP manager provides oversight and supervision of the Infection Prevention workflow in Outpatient and Ambulatory departments• The IP manager works to establish a healthy and safe environment for the organization by assist in preventing transmission of infectious agents among patients, staff and visitors. They will work in a proactive, interdisciplinary manner, employing continual assessment/surveillance of the environment. They will assist in making modifications to services provided, based on regulations, standards, scientific studies, internal evaluations and evidence-based guidelines.• The IP manager serve as leader, mentor, and role models for their colleagues and assist training Infection Preventionists at level I and II• The IP manager provides oversight on day to-day supervision of the Infection Prevention Department workflow.• The IP manager provides expertise related to infectious diseases process, regulatory needs, and prevention of spread of disease. • The IP manager shall assists on developing a continuous quality improvement, integrated with the hospital quality improvement program.• The IP manager works closely and collaborates with the IP Admin Director and Hospital Epidemiologist, who oversee the development of policies and procedures related to all activities within the Infection Prevention Department; and with the ambulatory leadership on the design and implementation of evidence-based practices in that environment• The IP manager works closely and collaborates with key stakeholders across the hospital to design, implement and sustain infection prevention practices.• The IP manager assists in creating education and specific programs as recommended by the Center for disease and control prevetion and annual infection prevention training for all staff in patient care areas.• The IP manager directly reports to the IP Administrative Director and through them to the VP of Quality & Patient Safety. Experience Required 5 years in Infection Prevention in an In-Patient healthcare environment. Excellent communication skills. Excellent clinical and scientific knowledge of Infection Prevention in a healthcare environment. Must have significant prior experience in both infection prevention and a related field (E.g. nursing, microbiology, epidemiology). Must have extensive experience with computers/EHRs; and In-Patient/Out-Patient surveillance and reporting systems. Education Requirements Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree in a Health-Related Field. Graduate degree preferred. Holds and keeps current Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) designation. License/Certification Requirements Current RN License, NJ preferred - CIC Credential required at the time of employment and current RN license preferred.
