The Category Leadership Manager for Space Planning and Analytics assists in developing and executing category strategy at Target. In this role, you will Become the "Voice of Choice" for your retailer by providing insights to drive superior category results, owning the development and implementation for Plan-o-grams across Nestle USA category captain departments, and furthering the teams' analytic capabilities through reporting and automation.
Responsibilities: Category Strategy: Product / Brand Category Objectives Supports the execution of product and placement strategic direction based on category strategy, best practices from Target/account teams, and quantitative feedback from Hub & Consumer and Marketplace Intelligence Interface with Target's HQ Category and POG services team to request and manage development of Target specific planograms Customer Strategy: Sales Performance Targets, Meeting Sales Goals, Segmentation / Resource Allocation, Improve Maintain Customer Specific Relationship score (i.e. Advantage, Kanter, Target Specific) Partner and consult with Target's Category Roundtable, HQ Category Strategy Teams, Field Category Managers, CAM's and Commercial Development in the development of Customer Category plans for one or more categories. Acts as a conduit to align key stakeholders, including local team, and other functions. Activates category strategies by leveraging the tools, insights, and analytics from Commercial Development, Enable Hub, and Target-specific data. Owns the development and execution of online and offline assortment/merchandising optimization, new product introductions, seasonal programs, and pricing/promotional planning/evaluation Develops and delivers succinct, concise, and compelling presentations to Target Roundtable that clearly communicates opportunities and issues and offers key findings and implications (the "so what") across the 4Ps, linking to the roadmap/CGS where appropriate. Includes ad-hoc projects, annual and midyear category reviews, and monthly score carding for account team and Target Win at Retail: Improving Execution Understand, educate, and deliver on Category First strategy Work with Retail Sales to gain a true understanding and perspective for retail shelf and understand in store environment (i.e. OOS, promotions, seasonal merch opportunities) Act as conduit and lead for Target Category team on all product assortment and mix optimization tools. This includes limited retailer tests and vetting potential new vendor tools for future usage. Develop Valued Capabilities: Improving selling capabilities and adding customer value through improved analytics and insights, and continuous improvement Develops and delivers Target analysis, information and insights that are linked to clear actions and results. Leverage Nestlé global and local market strategy, trends, insights, and market drivers to bring innovative solutions and growth opportunities to Target Collaborate effectively across Nestlé Sales to share winning ideas and insights to continually improve Nestle internal capabilities and Nestlé competitive advantage Accelerate Target specific advanced analytic initiatives through partnership and expertise Improve efficiency and insights through automation of category management tools Provide input to the strategic category planning process through delivery of insights to internal team and Target Provide ad-hoc category management reporting, trend analysis, customized reports, and special project work directly to internal / external leaders as necessary Integrated Approach: Develop concise, deliberate, fact-based narratives incorporating past, current, and future performance, shopper trends, and metrics with Qualitative Consumer Behavioral Data Develop Data Analytics and Consumer and Marketplace Intelligence to gather Shopper Insights & Trends, Account Performance, Market Trends, and Competitive Performance analysis by Category Serve as the omnichannel subject matter expert on Target team by mastering applicable POS and customer loyalty card data, and space management software Work with Consumer and Marketplace Intelligence/Hub to identify shopper buying habits and trends related to the category Utilize SRM tools to provide Category and Nestle winning solutions Leverage Shopper Metrics Reporting and Category Growth Solutions process to determine Target specific actions Develop Target/Store level analytics, recommendations and insights Continual interaction and work with the Data & Reporting Team for standardized reports, insights on the business, and category growth driving opportunities. Employ critical thinking and problem solving skills to recognize and anticipate issues and opportunities by elevating analyses beyond reporting and translate insight into retail action

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Accounting, Data Analytics, or equivalent degree with 7+ years related work experience in consumer goods, retail, or syndicated data with a focus on category management, sales, business analytics and/or shopper insights Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint. Database management understanding a plus (SQL) Advanced proficiency in Space Planning software (Blue Yonder/JDA) to include automation (Python, CKB, etc.). Extensive knowledge and advanced skills with business driving technology solutions (i.e. Circana, Numerator, Nielsen, Spectra, Shopper sights, Domo, VIQ, RSI, 84.51, Dunnhumby, SPINS and Sharpr) and internal/external industry insights and trends Knowledge of interrelationship of key functions and their key initiatives (Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Technical and Globe & IS/IT) Knowledge of internal relationships within Sales Division: Account Manager, Commercial Development Manager, IRi In-House Team, Shopper Marketing and Shopper Insights. Knowledge of core Business Processes and Fundamentals (Sales/Distribution, Customer Planning and Managing, Financial Reporting, Training, HR Policies, Integrated Commercial Planning, Nestlé Management and Leadership Principles) Knowledge of Operating Models For Key Classes of Trade: Examples: Grocery/Drug (High/Low), C Store (High), Mass (Predominantly EDLP with some High/Low), Club (EDLP) Exceptional communication skills – verbal, written & presentation Understanding of the Commercial Action Plans and Category Roadmaps/Category Growth Solutions Strong planning/organizing skills; the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to create a narrative using quantitative and qualitative data driving face to face dialogue and acceptance of initiatives with the Target buying team Requisition ID: 256838
